DAO is a contemporary architecture and design-build company based in
Sudbury, Canada. We work on a diverse range of projects, are committed to
comprehensive problem solving and strive for meaningful design rooted in
context. We use the latest technological tools in combination with enduring
cultural strategies to support a healthy balance among our society, city and
environment. To reach this goal, we merge the skills and enthusiasm of our
architectural team with the aspirations and experience of our clients and
DAO also has an associated arm for our R&D and commercialization activity.
We innovate new genetic designs and deepen our project results by seeing our
work through to production as part of our evolving design process. Our research,
development and commercialization work takes place with a diverse team of
specialists in other fields to suit the specific needs of the innovative work.
Currently, occupational therapy, oceanography and mining engineering have
become integral to our internal activity.
Patrick completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in Sudbury prior to completing a Master of Architecture at the University of British Columbia. He merged these two fields to pursue genetic design as an evolving architectural strategy and he has filed patents resulting from this research. Patrick has been the recipient of several awards, including those from the government, private sector, and academia. He has previously taught as a Sessional Instructor at the McEwen School of Architecture and is currently a registered architect in both British Columbia and Ontario as well as a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
