WATER FALLS
Sudbury is a resourceful city. The meteoric mineral deposits are complemented by the lake filled region, the Boreal forest, sturdy outcrops of bedrock, and diverse wildlife. While it has already become a thriving mining city, continued growth in the coming decades must account for climate change. Adaptive reuse can demonstrate our contribution to minimize material consumption despite our wealthy setting and this can become a key approach to defining our city’s identity globally. Consequently, the water tower is an iconic opportunity to modify an unused existing structure with a resourceful design approach and signal a new legacy.
